Polaris Sportsman 500 Transmission Problems. We have seen the short aluminum arms that are on top of the transmission which attach to the shift linkage arm and then attach to the shaft going inside of the transmission, we have seen these aluminum arms strip the splines inside of them. The ears get rounded off and they will not engage properly.
Only 5 months old, so hopefully the warranty will cover it!!! Also check linkage to make sure it is not binding. When i take off, the transmission feels like it is slipping and jerking, and there is a horrible clunking sound that sounds like it is coming from the transmission.
